“Stay at Home” Gala campaign in response to COVID-19 and cancelation of traditional Annual Benefit Gala. Exceeded fundraising goal of $120,000 by over 10 percent.

Caring House provides patients at Duke Cancer Institute with peace of mind by providing affordable housing, a healing environment, and a positive and supportive community.

Since 1992, Caring House has served over 16,000 guests and thanks to our donors our rate remains only $40 a night.

Normally this time of year, we would be gathered together at the Washington Duke Inn celebrating our partnership with Duke Cancer Institute and showing our support for Caring House’s mission. However, due to COVID-19, this year looks a little different as we change our initiative in solidarity with our immunosuppressed guests.

Instead, we have decided to host a Stay at Home Gala – the first Caring House event of its kind! We hope you will join us from the comfort of your own home as we celebrate our mission and raise the funds necessary to help Caring House remain fully operational during these uncertain times.

We need your support now more than ever! So each week in the month of January, we will send out fun video premieres, enticing auction items & so much more! Stay tuned as this is just the beginning of our exciting initiative.
